iNaturalist
As we begin and progress through our journey to regenerate the Morgan’s Grant Hydro Corridor, it is important for us to be able to track our progress and to contribute to local scientific and conservation work. We are excited to share that we have a project on iNaturalist which allows anybody with a smartphone or camera and computer to contribute to our efforts!

Benefits of iNaturalist
iNaturalist is a free to use, non-profit, citizen science platform, meaning that it allows everyone to make observations of the world around them.
iNaturalist can help to identify species, meaning that you don’t need to know about what you are observing to make meaningful contributions.
The data uploaded by users to iNaturalist is shared with scientists and conservation organizations via scientific data repositories such as NatureServe Canada and Canadensys.
Through iNaturalist, we can contribute to an improved global understanding of biodiversity.
Tips for using iNaturalist
Please only make observations of wild organisms.
Try to take more than one photo for your observation, this will improve the chances that iNaturalist identifies it for you.
Try to take photos that are closer up or cropped, this will help to avoid confusion of what you are observing.
Always be safe and be mindful of private property and sensitive areas. In particular, avoid trampling regeneration zones.
For more information or tutorials on how to use the iNaturalist app and website, please visit iNaturalist.
Do not take photos of skat (or poop). While they are evidence of a creature of some kind, they cannot be used as observations or to confirm species on iNaturalist.
