A little more about us...
As a community-led project of the Ottawa Stewardship Council, we work to:
Build partnerships with other organizations to achieve the community's vision for greenspace;
Create thriving and vibrant native wildflower and meadow habitat, that enriches local biodiversity, benefits native pollinator species, limits invasive and noxious weeds, and helps improve the health and quality of life for people;
Foster social cohesion by working together with others to restore and regenerate ecosystems, while engaging and encouraging the community to participate in renewal efforts.
As a learning community, we aim to create a safe and welcoming environment that supports diverse cultures and knowledge sharing. We sow seeds of diversity, both literally and figuratively:
We respect, encourage, embrace and defend, diversity of thought, of people, and of ability, within our group, our community and our city;
We work not for profit or for personal gain, but to restore our ecological environment so that it may be preserved and enjoyed for generations to come.
While our team’s on the ground restoration efforts take place in the Kanata North Hydro Corridor and the South March Highlands Conservation Forest, we know they are only parts of Kanata North’s important greenspace network, and other greenspaces across the City of Ottawa. We embrace a collaborative framework. We are proud to be partnering with a network of people and organizations working together to make a difference.

History
Our volunteer group was formed in the summer of 2023.
We build on the stewardship work of the BMGCA and OSC in the Morgan’s Grant Hydro Corridor that began in 2016:
